When you think of flower viewing, you probably think of cherry blossoms, but the plum trees in Inabe City are just as vibrant in bloom as the cherry blossoms. The 4,000 plum trees in the grove are a sight to behold. Located at the foot of the Suzuka Mountains, the contrast between the snow-capped mountains and the plum trees is a spectacular sight. We will introduce you to the plum grove that can only be seen here.
Spring is all about cherry blossom viewing. There are very few places in Japan where plum blossoms bloom, coming earlier than the cherry blossoms.
The Plum Grove Park in Inabe City is home to approximately 4,000 plum trees, making it the largest in the Tokai region. With the Suzuka Mountains stretching out behind it, the contrast between the mountains and the plum blossoms is spectacular.
Although it is located close to Nagoya (about an hour’s drive) and Kyoto (about an hour and a half’s drive), it is not well known among foreign tourists.

When you step into the plum grove, you will be surrounded by plum blossoms as far as the eye can see, and you will be soothed by the scent of plums and the colorful flowers.
Limited edition plum products

There is also a direct sales store for local products, where you can interact with local people and purchase delicious souvenirs made with plums.
One of the most popular is “UME WHITE,” a craft beer made with plums. It is only available in the city and at certain stores, and has a refreshing aroma and natural acidity.
